Today I read The Nutcracker to my 2nd grade class. As I turned to the page where Godfather Drosselmeier gives the children their gifts, I pointed to the picture of Clara holding her gift and asked:
Me: Looking at the shape of the gift (long and thin), I'm wondering what Clara could have gotten from Godfather Drosselmeier. What do you think she received, based on what you see in the picture?
Student 1: Umm...I think maybe it's a flute!
Me: Oh, that's a good guess, because a flute is long and skinny, just like the present.
Student 2: It's a nutcracker!
Me: Hmm...maybe...
Student 3: Oh, I know! It's a sub sandwich!

Ok, ok
I may have blown things out of proportion JUUUUST a little. Here’s why:
1. I found my iPod! It was…in my coat pocket………I’d been wearing my fleece jacket for a while b/c the weather here is bipolar and one day it got real cold, so I wore my winter coat, put the iPod in there, and then hung the coat up in the coat closet when it went back to being warm-ish. ...

Unraveling
I feel like I’m slowly, but surely, unraveling. There SO MANY things I need to do, but I don’t do them. I need a to do list stapled to my forehead.
