Often I ramble aimlessly but every once in a while the stars align and I have a brilliant moment. Sarcasm and satire is the way I roll; throw in a bit of uninhibited awe and you've got your basic artsy nature freak grammar geek. And sometimes I'm a musical genius. But I don't label.

Piano Sonata No. 32 in B Minor (3rd movement) - Joseph Haydn
I came across this in my Haydn piano sonata book and I think that I want to work on it. I’ve played through it a few times, but about 10x slower, so it doesn’t really sound anything like that. This guy is GOOD.
This is what I should be doing right now. I’m gonna have to practice alllll day.

I have agreed to accompany some high school band kids at contest, and I have four pieces, out of a possible ten. I’ve been practicing for about a week now, and I think that four may be all I can do; they’re rather demanding pieces. I do love having something to practice for, so I don’t want to complain, but I just recently got the music and there’s only 23 days until their performances. I wish I would’ve gotten the music earlier b/c I also haven’t even rehearsed with any of the students yet, and for me to be comfortable with it, I’d need to practice at least 3 times with each person. I feel like this high school’s music program lags a bit behind the other high school in the district. It just seems that they’re not always on top of things, and I can say that from firsthand experience, b/c I was once a student there. Just wish there was a little more organization and not so many last minute things.
But DESPITE all of that, I really do love playing piano. :)

I found my Elton John songbook today! This one has been stuck in my head alllll day. Funny how playing Elton on piano makes me feel like I can’t count/don’t have any sense of rhythm. Oh well, still fun either way!
